In this fun and engaging one-time overview class, I will discuss the different ways to publish a book. From traditional publishers and acquiring agents, to self-publishing digital and print books. I will go over the different software used to create books and information about illustrations if your book needs them. Where's the money? I will share about advances, royalties, selling yourself, and how to make money from your book. This course is meant to be an overview into different ways books get published, however, I will provide specific details and resources during the class. There will be time for questions and answers. I will provide a pdf at the end with all the resources and websites discussed in the class. I have 10 traditionally published books and 22 self-published books and I have made a full-time living as an author and illustrator of books for children.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
