30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Knowing parts of the horse is important for every horse lover. In this 30 minute class, we will see these parts come to life in motion as we identify and paint them on a live horse and a plastic model horse. We will practice naming anatomy and discuss how the parts connect and affect the horse's health and movement. Learners with any level of prior knowledge are welcome to bring pictures of their favorite horses to practice identifying parts. Everyone will have the opportunity to name parts and ask questions. Be prepared to wonder at the equine skeleton in motion!
Learning Goals
Learners will gain basic knowledge of horse anatomy and how the body parts work together.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a terrific life passion that I love to pursue and share. My days are packed with Outschool classes on Everything Horse!, teaching English to students in China, tutoring in local elementary schools, teaching horseback riding lessons and riding/competing. Students come to class for a lively, laughter-filled, interactive discussion supported by practical experience and science. Our classroom and in-barn lessons explore ways to enjoy and care for horses on the ground and while riding. Learners of all levels are welcome -- from pony-crazy kids to competitive riders in all disciplines. While I have a B.A. in Journalism from University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill, I owe a debt to 4-H. I acquired a strong foundation of equine knowledge, public speaking, team competition and best friends for life. I am a certified Pressure Proof mentor that allows me to coach others through their anxiety to become confident equestrians. I use these sports psychology strategies in my own riding and competitions where my excellent coaches keep me striving for improvement. I look forward to passing on this valuable information to your kids. Everyone will meet the real star of the show: my adopted Thoroughbred ex-racehorse, Rally!
