In this Self-Paced course, there is no live instruction. The material will be posted all at once and you can view it during the week at your convenience. The class will include multiple interactive activities (in the Outschool classroom). After completing the lesson, students will complete practice questions in Jamboard, Google Forms, and Google Slides. There will also be question/answer discussions so that students can share their knowledge for a better understanding of the topic. This is the perfect class to start from the beginning to the end as it relates to decimals. We will review EVERYTHING from place value to rounding, equivalency, comparing, and sorting with plenty of practice using decimals with operations: adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. During the sessions with operations, learners will also practice solving one and two-step word problems. This is a comprehensive course directed to help your learner become more confident when working with decimals. There is no pre-requisite knowledge required. The course material will follow the sequence below: 1. Understanding Decimals. Review place value, equivalency, comparing, sorting, and rounding. 2. Adding and Subtracting Decimals. Add and subtract decimals with the same/different place values as well as regrouping (carrying and borrowing numbers). Word problems will also be covered. 3. Multiplying Decimals. Multiply decimals with the same and different place values. Word problems will also be covered. 4. Dividing Decimals. Multiply decimals with the same and different place values. Word problems will also be covered.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Virginia Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! My name is Ms. Ann and I have been a teacher for over a decade in the beautiful state of VA. I have taught several grades in both Elementary and Middle School. I love to teach. I think the best part of teaching is sharing my knowledge in a variety of subjects and helping students make connections to previous experiences or existing background knowledge.
I am a certified teacher in all core subjects: math, history, science, and language arts (grades K-8 and gifted education). I believe that successful teaching includes building relationships, interest, and engagement with students. When students are interested in the topic, they are more willing to participate, ask questions, and ultimately master the content.
I hope to see you in class soon!
