Young students will have fun learning new English vocabulary words, letters, and simple sentences. We will describe our favorite toys, learn about colors, shapes, and numbers, sing songs, and most importantly have fun together!
Class experience
Let's learn English! This semester long multi-week course is for learners who do not speak English as their first language and wish to learn the basics. This is ideal for beginners who understand little to no English words and want to expand their vocabulary and learn to speak in full sentences. This class will be customizable based on the level of understanding of the enrolled students. Courses will run either 2 or 3 times per week, with a total of 26 classes. Students will learn new English words, verbs, phrases, and sentences in each class, based on a predetermined theme. They will learn proper pronunciation of all new vocabulary words. They will gain confidence by learning to converse with other students.
I am a qualified TESOL (ESL) teacher with over 3 years of experience teaching children of all ages. I am a native English speaker, and understand the importance of learning proper pronunciation and grammar early on. I have my bachelors degree in communications, and have two young (very talkative!) children myself.
Please bring a white board and erasable marker, or a notebook and pencil/pen in order to write words and letters during class!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will provide 3 study guides in the form of a powerpoint or PDF that students are welcome to print or save to their computer to use during this class, or just for future reference later on.
