"Every Day Is Earth Day!" Yoga Class
D'Etta P Broam
Through a yoga practice, we'll learn about Earth Day and celebrate how we can work together to take care of our planet!
Class experience
Students will need space to move! A beach towel or yoga mat is helpful, but not necessary. Students should wear comfortable clothes. It's best to yoga on an empty stomach so plan to eat meals or snacks after class. Families are welcome to practice together! Learning skills together helps to incorporate when appropriate in daily life. We will read and sing as we breathe, balance, s-t-r-e-t-c-h, and strengthen together! Have blank paper and coloring supplies available (crayons or markers,...
Students will practice yoga and enjoy the benefits of yoga practice as well as learn about the April 22 Earth Day celebration!
Earth Day celebrates a 50th anniversary in 2020! As a public school counselor and registered yoga teacher, I see how beneficial it is for students to see themselves as part of the whole. From my experience in the classroom and on the yoga mat, I will lead the class to recognize the healthy balance between being a strong individual and a collaborative partner with others with whom we share space. "Every Day is Earth Day!" Yoga is a natural and fun way to achieve these concepts.
Students may use a beach towel or yoga mat. Blank paper and coloring supplies (whatever is on hand) are requested for use during the lesson.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
A yoga practice involves movement, and, as in all movement opportunities, students could hurt themselves. To avoid injury, please ensure your child has plenty of space to work and is properly supervised during the learning opportunity. It is also recommended to work with bare feet or socks with rubber grips to prevent feet from sliding unsafely while yoga-ing!
