Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Each student will gain experience discussing literature (yay!), interacting with an instructor and their classmates, and creating an owl collage art project.
Besides having a passion for children's literature, I have an MA in English and have led many book, art, and writing discussions. I am comfortable teaching both adults and children and am sensitive to learners who love to participate as well as to those who prefer to primarily listen to discussions. I excel at keeping children engaged and providing a mix of activities to foster a fun educational experience.
Students should read Eva's Treetop Festival in its entirety before class.
Also, before class (and with adult supervision if necessary), students should cut out the pieces for the collage art project. Learners will assemble and glue the pieces during class.
 1 file available upon enrollment
1) A copy of Eva's Treetop Festival (book one in the Owl Diaries series) by Rebecca Elliott 2) One piece of 8.5-inch x 11-inch (or larger) black cardstock 3) Glue 4) Pieces of the owl's body (and the branch) cut out of scrapbook paper and/ or fabric--see attached template Also, because the class is interactive, please have your learners participate in a quiet setting, free from distractions.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
