Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of the postwar period in Europe and the early Cold War, including the economic, social, and political consequences of the war in Europe, the rise of new world superpowers, and the division of the continent between east and west.
I draw on my education and professional development as a historian and teacher in order to create a safe environment in which students can learn about difficult historical topics. My undergraduate degree is in history, focusing on American and European history. My first master's degree is in history, focusing on European and American history, and my second master's degree is in cultural heritage management, with a focus on interpreting difficult history to audiences of all ages.
Students may find it useful to have something with which to take notes during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will involve discussion of war, violence, and the destruction caused by war. All discussion will be done in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner. Please be advised that some students might find this content upsetting.
