Students will learn the fundamentals of life skills and understand why they are essential in their daily interactions. Specifically, they will learn about skills in self-awareness, communication, cultural understanding, and critical thinking as well as how to apply them.
Professor Brenée Wright is a former College English professor (having taught English Composition and Critical Thinking classes). She has also served as a K-12 classroom Spanish teacher (having taught middle and high school students and planned age-appropriate course outlines and extracurricular activities). Further, Professor Wright is a Life Coach (relational life coach for college-age to middle-aged women's programs). She has also studied abroad and has participated in short-term missionary work abroad, having lived in or visited the following countries: Spain, Bermuda, Morocco, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
Homework Offered
The type of homework assigned in this course will include uploading short video responses to Flip (Flipgrid) between classes. They will not require extensive research and will be primarily experiential in nature.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be both informally and formally assessed in this course. Informal assessments will be a mixture of (but not limited to) class discussions, think-pair-share, reflective journals, and interactive quizzes. Formal assessments will consist of short end-of-class quizzes.Grades Offered
Students will need to have (or have access to) a Google account, and the Flip (Flipgrid) app.
