Description

Class Experience

In this course, students will learn to write a well-developed and structured paragraph.

Class 1: Introduction to the Paragraph
In this class, students will examine a model paragraph. Students will be introduced to topic sentences, supporting details that directly relate to the topic sentence,and concluding paragraph sentences. At the end of class, students will label the parts of a paragraph.

Class 2: Constructing a Paragraph
In this class, students will write a well-developed paragraph...

Students will be able to construct a well-developed paragraph.
Students will write a topic sentence.
Students will use supporting details in a paragraph.
Students will examine a model text to understand how to write a paragraph.

Students will need to submit a completed paragraph after class #2. This paragraph will be reviewed and feedback will be given.

  1 file available upon enrollment
Students will need pen/pencil and paper for class.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

The learner is assessed through written feedback after the submission of a completed paragraph.

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
