Class Experience

Is your learner overwhelmed by the thought of organizing thoughts and writing an essay? Do you have a learner who loves to write? This course is perfect for either student! In this semester long class your learner will gain confidence in their writing skills in a fun, easy to follow manner. Students will learn to construct and write three types of essays: persuasive, narrative, and informative. With fun writing prompts that kids enjoy, learners will love writing in no time! This class is taught in English.

Students will learn to organize their thoughts, draft and finalize 3 types of essays:  persuasive, informative, and narrative.

Each week learners will complete an essay. Homework will be to finish their rough draft before the 2nd class meeting each week. The final draft will be due at the end of the week. This could take 1-2 hours per week, depending on how much they may have finished during class time.

Worksheets will be provided in the classroom to print out and bring to class.
Pencils, optional colored pen/pencils for editing
lined notebook paper

Students will need to turn in their final drafts by the due date at the end of each class week. I will score each paragraph with a rubric and provide a score. This way, you will be able to track your learner's progress. `

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
