Is your learner overwhelmed by the thought of organizing thoughts and writing an essay? Do you have a learner who loves to write? This course is perfect for either student! In this semester long class your learner will gain confidence in their writing skills in a fun, easy to follow manner. Students will learn to construct and write three types of essays: persuasive, narrative, and informative. With fun writing prompts that kids enjoy, learners will love writing in no time! I teach learners a step-by-step organization method for essay. Learners will complete one essay from start to finish every week. On day one of each week we will brainstorm, organize and put together a draft of a mock essay as a class so that they can see each step. Then students will be released to work on their own. On day two when we meet, we will work on editing, revising, and writing a final draft. Students may finalize their draft on their own time and turn it in at the end of the week. It is my hope that essay writing will become less scary and organized in a way that makes sense to each learner. Students may turn in to me a draft of their essays if they would like help with editing. Students will need to turn in their final drafts by the due date posted in class at the end of each week. Worksheets will be posted in the classroom for each class to be printed out and used during and after class.
