Have you ever wondered how to turn your rough draft into an amazing, polished piece that you WANT other people to read? Do you feel stuck when your teacher tells you to improve your writing, but you don't know where to begin? Join us for this class to gain some practical tools to improve your writing. Revising and editing is more than making sure spelling is correct. This interactive class will give students manageable steps and simple techniques to be able to improve their own writing, including focusing on consistent verb tense and point of view, formal writing, and improving word choice. Students will have opportunities to practice and discuss different methods to revise and edit writing in class. While the focus of the time in class will mainly be on non-fiction writing, skills from this class can easily be applied to creative writing as well. This is an excellent class for students of all writing abilities. After this class, students will have increased confidence in their ability to take a rough draft and transform it into a polished final draft. ****************************** The content of this class is also taught as part of informative (explanatory) and argumentative comprehensive essay classes as well as an ongoing class.
