Class experience
US Grade 6 - 8
Beginner Level
A well-written paragraph is the building block to all other writing. In this three week course, students will learn basic paragraph writing techniques and practice using them to write narrative, informative, and opinion paragraphs. Students will grow in their understanding of the paragraph writing process, and in their ability to write quality narrative, informative, and opinion paragraphs.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in English, and held a Professional Teaching Certificate in Florida to teach English in grades 6-12. For the past several years I have taught small group English classes to students of all ages, including how to write paragraphs.
Homework Offered
Homework in this class is optional. Students will have the option to write a paragraph each week following the pattern we used in class the week before. There will be time at the beginning of the last two classes to share student writing. Additionally, students can use what they learn in this class to complete homework in other courses.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be informally assessed through class discussion and practice to ensure student understanding and so I, as the teacher, can adapt the class to student's needs. There is no formal assessment.Grades Offered
