This class is specifically for learners looking to practice their conversational English. We explore popular current event topics or topics of the students choosing while assessing concepts like Grammar, Phonics, Pronunciation, and American Slang. This is a 35-minute class. As with all of my intro classes I include 2 academic links that students can follow-up with anytime which provides multiple perspectives on the topic while encouraging conversation beyond the classroom. This class is taught in English.
The objective of this course is to provide informal instructional feedback that enables learners to self-evaluate their use of: Grammar, Phonics and Pronunciation during conversational English practice. Students will learn language context in terms of conversational settings as well as suggested areas for improvement.
I am an ELL/ESL tutor with 3 years of experience both online and with private lessons. My focus is informal conversational English. I also have 8 years of service as a DEI instructor. I hold a degree in Business Management as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work along with my 120 Hour TESOL Teaching Certificate.
There is no formal homework for this class. However, students are encouraged to take this class repeatedly as it is unique each time.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There are no formal Assessments given however: feedback and coaching are provided during the live course to determine competency.
35 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
