Homework
Homework will be given based on the student's goals and level.Class Experience
I'm want to help students develop their English and be able to speak it easily and with confidence. I want to prepare them for higher education. In this class, I create special lessons for the student each class. Below is what I plan according to the student's ability and interests. If the parent has any advice, I make sure to take it. I am always kind and will gently correct students in pronunciation. I will guide them to speak in complete sentences. Every class will have a game that will help the student stay interested and have fun. The first week of <Sept 26> This is a time for us to learn about each other. I'll get a good understanding of the student's reading ability and speaking ability. The second week of <Oct 3> During this class, we will read a story that is appropriate for the student's level. We'll discuss it and I will talk about relevant concerns that come up during reading. The third week of <Oct 10> This day, we'll review some basic English vocabulary. We'll talk about specific phonics rules as well, according to the needs of the student. Fourth week of <Oct 17> This week, we will do a little bit of grammar. We'll talk about writing rules according to the grade level.
Learning Goals
Students will gain confidence by reading at their level (sight words and other phonics rules). They will practice reading comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in English from Arizona State University
You know that feeling when you bite into your favorite cake and it's fluffy and luscious and you wish that it could last forever? That’s how I feel about English. I can immerse myself in textbooks, classes, and writing for hours. I’ve been writing since I knew words could convey meaning (even if my “writing” didn’t quite make sense.) That love led me to getting a Bachelor’s of English from ASU. Eventually, I found myself teaching English as a Second language to little kids--through VIPKID--and LOVING it.
My passion for teaching English led me to get a CELTA. This is a certificate from Cambridge that I got through a course that specialized in teaching me how to create an effective lesson plan and teach adults. Obviously, Outschool is a platform for kids, but I can use the resources and training that I developed during the CELTA course and apply it to Outschool.
As a homeschooling mom of 5, I learned pretty quickly that love for the language arts isn’t innate. So, I am on a mission to develop an exciting, individualized curriculum for children of any age. I am adept at teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) and Elementary Grammar Classes.
Other interesting facts about me: I am a Disney fan and even did a general college internship there. ( I filled pineapple dole whips for 5 months and got school credit for it.) I also love to travel with my family and learn about different cultures. So, even though I live in Maricopa, Arizona in
my dream house, it’s not uncommon to find me in a different state or even country as I teach! (Don’t forget to ask me about it.)
I’m excited to see you in class!
