ESL - Let’s Read Stories (Beginning Readers)

No homework will be assigned for this class. I only encourage students and families to welcome and include what they are learning to make connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, listening to and participating in the world around them. 

Learner progress will be assessed by the teacher daily during each lesson as she sees that students are becoming comfortable, independent and fluent in their reading. Comprehension will be monitored regularly through questions and answers as well as activities on the slides that require students to demonstrate understanding. Writing will improve as students keep a regular journal that will show their progression over time. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class, their own independent reading and writing, as well as how they are using learned information, reading techniques and improved speaking outside of class.  

2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
