Also feel free to join in sooner for review!) 1. Students should be able to read and sound out all the letters of the alphabet. 2. Students should know around 300-500 vocabulary words such as animals, colors, and feelings. 3. Students should be able to formulate simple sentences such as “This is a cat.” 4. Becoming emergent readers with three letter words such as dog, cat, ran (CVC words). Hello! I'm Ms. Jennie, and I am SO excited to be teaching on Outschool! I have over 5 years of teaching experience in the public schools as a certified Early Childhood Educator (with ESL and LBS 1 (SPED) endorsements). I have currently been teaching on Outschool for about two years and came from a position where I specifically taught a classroom where everyone was an English Language Learner.
My background is with diverse learners, and children with unique needs. I have completed a internship that focused on ESL learners and have taught many in my previous and current teaching experiences.
I am also passionate about the field of Psychology, I have a minor in and looking to get further credentials such as certificates in Mindfulness etc.) and strongly believe in intentionally teaching social-emotional skills both explicitly as well as implicitly as opportunities naturally occur.
I believe learning should be fun, and I always try to find a way to tie the student's interests with my teaching and keep them engaged! I look forward to hearing from you, and how we can work together to best meet the needs of your learners!
