US Grade 1 - 4
In this group course students will work on learning new vocabulary and improving their conversational skills. Some learners benefit more from having group classes when it comes to gaining confidence and practicing conversation. The goal is to improve social skills, fluency and prepare learners for public speaking and debates. In this course learners will be introduced to new vocabulary words and sentences related to key words that they will be able to practice through various games/songs (please see below). [Focus is on speaking/production/learner output.] [The goal is to help learners gain confidence and speak independently by the end of class.] Level 3 is constructed like this: - Warm-up song/video to watch - Learning the key words - Word games - Key sentences (repetition/reading, asking questions and answering) - Listening - Review IMPORTANT: This course is designed to follow on from my Level 2 Course. Anyone is welcome to join the course. You are welcome to purchase Level 4 Course if you would like to progress to the next level. All classes are designed to engage and entice learners to participate together as a group. Week 1- Getting to know each other/Describing Things (adjectives) Present Simple Tense Week 2- Morning Routines and Daily Routines My Family Week 3- Places and Where We Live Jobs Week 4- Vegetables and Kitchen Appliances Health Week 5- Demonstrative Pronouns Sports Week 6- Storytelling Review ****Subject to change, holiday classes could be added **** Homework: Digital or printable assignments will be given to students occasionally. Every class is followed by a feedback report of what was taught and areas to improve. Teaching technique: - Presentation (language is presented to learners) - Practice (the aim of this stage is accuracy/error correction) - Production (using the language as fluently and naturally as possible) ✓ TPR (Total Physical Response) used throughout the lessons, such as gestures and body language, simple and clear instructions as well as level-appropriate language to keep the learners engaged and focused. ✓ Error Correction and adjustment based on learners' understanding and abilities. ✓ Use of props/flashcards and other teaching aids that enhance the class experience.
Learning Goals
Speaking English accurately and fluently with proper error correction through repetition and games. The goal is to encourage speaking and boost students' confidence so that they can eventually speak independently. TPR, props, error correction are used throughout the lessons.
