Description
Class Experience
ESL students (English as a Second Language) / ELL students (English Language Learners) will learn new English vocabulary, as well as review vocabulary, while looking at a several photos and talking about what they see. Conversational skills will be focused upon as we move through the lesson. Students will interact with the teacher and other students by sharing their ideas. We will work on vocabulary and higher-level synonyms. Students will also spend some time writing in their journals and...
This class is taught in English.
Our learning goal is to practice the English words that we already know and to learn more vocabulary. This vocabulary will be utilized in conversation that will focus on real-life situations. We will practice speaking, working on our pronunciation, reading and writing.
Students will be asked to write 1-2 paragraphs in order to describe a picture or tell a story. If students are more advanced with English language skills, they will be required to produce higher level, descriptive paragraphs.
Students will need to have a notebook and a pencil for every class. Google Docs will be used to share writing assignments.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Student progress will be assessed through participation in class discussions and finished writing assignments.
