ESL students (English as a Second Language) / ELL students (English Language Learners) will learn new English vocabulary, as well as review vocabulary, while looking at various photos and talking about what they see. They will interact with the teacher and other students by sharing their ideas. Constructive feedback will be given immediately in regards to pronunciation, word choice, grammar, and intonation. We will work on vocabulary and our speaking skills throughout the lesson. We will work on writing sentences. Homework will be assigned weekly. Students will be writing about any two topics that we covered in class. Beginners may start off with a few sentences and more advanced students will be writing up to two paragraphs that will be reviewed by the instructor. Assignments may be shared through Google Docs (shared through a link) in order to receive feedback for the work. This class meets every week and students may attend at their convenience at any point. Please note that I do not share video recordings of the lessons. Week #1 - Introductions and basic conversation topics (weather, likes and dislikes) Week #2 - Speaking in present tense about various topics seen in photos Week #3 - Describing photos in detail (present and past tense) Week #4 - Analyzing photos and asking questions about the details
Learning Goals
Our learning goal is to practice the English words that we already know and to learn more vocabulary. We will practice speaking, working on our pronunciation, and writing.
