In this 4-week flex course, students will learn vocabulary appropriate for intermediate English language learners, equivalent to 4th and 5th-grade vocabulary for native English speakers. Students will build their vocabulary to include words used in science, math, and geography, as well as those used to talk about school, home, and family. Students will build vocabulary through discussion and exercises about antonyms and synonyms. Students will build vocabulary and accuracy when using homophones and homographs. Learners will learn to analyze and build words using prefixes and suffixes. Course Schedule Week One Week of September 11 Topics: Vocabulary List One: adjectives and adverbs, Vocabulary List Two: prefixes and suffixes Instructional Videos will be posted on Sunday and Thursday Written exercises will be posted on Monday and Friday Adjective and Adverb crossword puzzle Prefix and suffix Kahoot!
