In this course, I will help determined beginner-level English learners build vocabulary and practice conversation skills while enjoying a fun book about a strong smart girl. A typical class will begin with reading aloud. This will be followed by discussion of new words, expressions, and events in the story. Finally, In some meetings, we will play games related to the book and in others, will complete a simple art project while discussing the story. I will offer immediate feedback to students...

I have been helping determined English language learners improve their vocabulary, speaking skills, and confidence for several years of my 19 year teaching career. My PhD in English focused on story as an important means of communicating in a variety of situations, so I enjoy focusing on story while teaching English to beginners.
