In this course, students will practice reading and speaking English with a focus on speaking. Each class, we will read an article from National Geographic Kids magazine and then answer comprehension and discussion questions about the reading. A typical class will follow this structure: Warm-up greetings: 5 minutes Reading: 5 - 10 minutes Guided Discussion: 15 - 20 minutes I will give immediate feedback about pronunciation, word choice, and sentence structure. Students will build their English vocabulary in the areas of science, art, geography, history, and culture. They will improve their speaking skills and grow more confident using English when reading, answering questions, and discussing a variety of topics including space, weather, sea animals, jungle animals, natural disasters, human-made wonders, cultures around the world.
