Learning English doesn't have to be grammar exercises and boring vocabulary lists. Let's have fun learning English and studying world geography. In this ongoing class, students will learn and practice English by reading about and discussing world geography including continents, countries, mountain ranges, rivers, volcanoes, forests, deserts, oceans, and natural landmarks. Students will read aloud, listen to direct instruction, play games, and do creative projects about world geography....
After attending ESL EFL ELL World Geography students will be able to use English vocabulary to name and describe continents and countries define words related to rivers, lakes, and oceans correctly in English correctly describe habitats such as deserts, rainforests, and grasslands using specific and precise English compare and contrast the climates, landscapes, and cultures of various countries using correct English vocabulary and sentence structure participate in discussions and play games using English First Week of June: Australia's Pink Lakes Brief intros Read aloud Comprehension Q and A Vocabulary Memory Matching Card Game Second Week of June: South American Natural Landmarks Brief intros Read aloud Landmark Paper Craft Paper Craft show and discuss Third Week of June: Finland's Climate and Culture Brief intros Read aloud Finland flag art activity Fourth Week of June: Caribbean Islands Brief Intros Read aloud Venn Diagram: Jamaica and Bahamas Kahoot! vocabulary and facts game Fifth Week of June: Rivers of Asia and Africa Brief intros Read aloud Discussion questions River scribble art Aug 4: Waterfalls Aug 11: Mount Kilimanjaro Aug 18: Caves and Canyons Aug 25: Poland's Crooked Forest Sept 9: Emeralds and Columbia Sept 16: Crimean and Carpathian Mountains of Ukraine Sept 23: Native People of the American Northwest Coast Sept 30: Freshwater Habitat Additional topics and activities will be added. Classes will not recycle until week 12 is completed.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will need to use scissors during some creative activities. We will play Kahoot! sometimes this requires logging into Kahoot.it but does not require creating an account.
I will provide materials and resources for readings and games.
