In this ongoing course, we will have a friendly and interactive discussion each week centering on a short age-appropriate reading passage about various subjects. Each week we will practice our speaking and listening skills in a comfortable small group setting. Students will gain valuable practice reading at a natural pace and also benefit from using the proven ESL strategies of reading aloud, silent reading, shared reading, and listening. I am a native US English speaker and have been teaching ESL for the past 2 1/2 years online. During that time I have taught over 750 children and helped them reach their English-speaking goals. I am TESOL certified to teach English as a Second Language. My philosophy is to lead children into learning new skills with gentle correction, support, and lots of encouragement along the way.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The teacher will provide all materials during class time.
