Description
Class Experience
Learners will improve their knowledge and understanding of the English spoken language in the following ways: 1. Understanding of the English alphabet and phonics (letter sounds) 2. Vocabulary words 3. Spelling 4. Grammar for spoken English 5. Conversational English in many common topics such as numbers, colors, shapes, family members, animals, clothing, time, school, towns, neighborhoods, transportation, sports, places, and more
I have taught ESL/EFL to non-native-English-speaking children ages 1 - 10 since May 2018 in an online environment. This experience has allowed me to enhance my skills in teaching English to young children who have never spoken the language before. I have regular learners whose parents request me on a weekly basis to teach their children. I have developed a strong rapport with my learners and their parents and have seen many learners' progress in speaking English. I hold the following certifications: 1. TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) 2. TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
The teacher may assign verbal homework for learners to practice at home with family members and friends. The homework will consist of English questions or topics they may practice speaking at home. This is not required but will be made available to learners who want additional practice at home.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No formal assessments will be conducted in this ongoing conversation class. The class is designed to serve as practice for conversational English.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will be using Google Slides to present some digital examples of the things we are learning in class. No account or student access will be required as I will be sharing my screen to teach.
