She also draws from her over five years of specific ESL teaching experience, and solid, pedagogical training in effective classroom management and teaching, to give her ESL students a highly professional and effective language immersion learning experience. Mrs. Haywood - I have 20+ years of experience immersing students in grades PreK through Grade 2 into the English language. I have a TEFL certificate. No homework will be assigned for this class. I only encourage students to use their developing literacy skills regularly by making connections in their daily lives as often as possible while watching, reading, listening to and participating in the world around them.
Learner progress will be assessed daily during each lesson as the teacher sees and hears that the student has become independent in reciting the information learned during the calendar routine. Students will be able to ask and answer questions on their own. Students will have individual turns to demonstrate progress and understanding. Parents can also assess their own child's progress as they become more independent during their participation in class as well as how they are using learned information outside of class.
2 hours 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class is interactive and students will have an opportunity to write on the screen at times. It will be helpful if they can access the writing tools from the zoom annotation bar. If this is not an option they can have a paper and pencil or whiteboard and marker handy if they would like to participate in writing activities. If they choose not to write, that is ok as well. I will teach from powerpoint slides that I have created.
