In each meeting of this ongoing class, we focus on four fun vocabulary words in English while practicing common grammar patterns and simple conversations. Through games, coloring, and sharing, learners gain fluency and speaking confidence.
Class experience
"Play is one of the most important ways in which young children gain essential knowledge and skills." ~UNICEF, 2018 This class sets children up for a lifetime love of learning English using their favorite topics, such as dinosaurs, outer space, vehicles, and feelings. We warm up with a song, an icebreaker, and a rhyme and quickly go into games that build and reinforce the day's vocabulary, such as "What's missing?" and "Hide and Seek with Zeke and Monique." This class works on understanding and speaking in English. After each class, learners will be comfortable speaking about the day's four key vocabulary words in English.
ESL - Ms. Christina began her career as an English teacher in Taiwan. EARLY LITERACY - She worked for seven years in the children's department of a large public library with a focus on Early Literacy and multilingual programming. EDUCATION - Ms. Christina has a Bachelor of Arts degree in INTERNATIONAL POLITICS and GERMAN and a Master of Arts degree in INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS with a language focus on MANDARIN CHINESE. OUTSCHOOL - Ms. Christina is in her 4th year teaching on Outschool.

A one-page coloring sheet will be provided before each class. Please print it and bring something to color with, such as markers, crayons, or colored pencils. If you can't print the sheet, please bring a blank piece of paper.
