Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 8
Intermediate - Advanced Level
This is a class that meets once a week. Every week we will be traveling to a city in the great state of Texas. The learners will learn about the city and be able to hold a conversation surrounding special activities that occur there.
The class does not build on one another, so you are able to hop in the class at any time and learn about the next city on the list. Each city we learn about, we will discuss vocabulary, answer questions and have time to write and carry conversations with other students.
The class structure:
Welcome new and regular students to the class.
Icebreaker question
Locate the new city on the map of Texas
Introduce vocabulary
Introduce topic for discussion
Students practice
Students write and share
Close the lesson asking students what their plans are for the week.

My teaching style is discussion driven and student led, while I guide the conversation where it needs to meet the objective. Learners will mainly interact with each other by asking questions, responding to questions and sharing any personal experiences as they feel comfortable.

Again, feel free to jump in or out at anytime as this list of 24 cities will be repeated once we finish with Waco Texas. You can even repeat a lesson, because different students will be enrolled and provide a lesson full of completely new experiences and stories to learn from!

I can’t wait to meet you soon!
Learning Goals
