This class is taught in English.
Learners will be able use English words to identify the numbers one through ten; some pets and farm animals; basic colors; and family members. Students will be able to use these terms in short sentences, such as "I like____" and "I see____."
I taught ESL in person for many years. For the past five years, I have been teaching English as a second language on-line. I have a Bachelor's degree and a TESOL certificate.
Much practice is needed to retain a new language. I'll ask the learners to spend a few minutes each day practicing what they have learned. I will post activities in the classroom to reinforce the learning.
It would be helpful to have access to a printer to print out some additional learning materials that will be posted in the classroom.
At the end of the 4-week period, I will send the parents a message discussing their child's progress, as well as any areas that may need more practice.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
