Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
This four-week course will introduce beginning English learners to some basic English vocabulary and a simple sentence each class. Students will learn to count and to label the numbers one through ten in English. Learners will understand and be able to pronounce the names of basic colors, several animals, and family members.

The following topics will be covered:
Week 1: Numbers 1-10
Week 2: Colors
Week 3: Pets and Farm Animals
Week 4: My Family

Each class will begin with a warm-up activity, followed by a review of some of the terms from previous classes. Then I will introduce new words and a sentence. The students will be encouraged to speak English as much as possible. Their learning will be reinforced through participation in games, conversation, and songs. Suggestions for additional activities to provide further practice at home will be posted in the classroom.

No prior knowledge or experience is required for this beginning course.
Learning Goals
Learners will be able use English words to identify the numbers one through ten; some pets and farm animals; basic colors; and family members. Students will be able to use these terms in short sentences, such as "I like____" and "I see____."
