Solving all of the puzzles to escape the room is the assessment.Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 11
This 55 minute class is meant to be a survey of information about the witch trials in Salem. I teach a longer course on this topic, and although it is not a prerequisite, any background knowledge will make solving the puzzles easier. Everything needed to solve the puzzles and escape the room is contained within the room. I will briefly explain the rules of the room, and then I will start the timer. The students can work individually, or as a group, depending on the size of the class. The students will click on various parts of the room, leading them to the information they need to solve the puzzles, while learning about some of the major people and events surrounding the trials. I will be there to answer offer a limited amount of help, and after the students have finished, discuss the experience with them.
Learning Goals
Students will use critical thinking to apply new knowledge to answer questions.
