Description

Class Experience

-Students will differentiate the parts and uses of an apple
-Students will list common characteristics of each of the four seasons
-Students will identify capital and lower case "A" as well as four common words that begin with "A"
-Students will sort a variety of objects into three categories (red, green, and yellow)
-Students will practice one-to-one correspondence by counting a variety of objects
-Students will combine small groups of objects in order to practice simple addition
-Students will learn basic facts about the historical figure Johnny Appleseed
There will be no homework for this class.  Some materials will be available before class if learners would like to preview the riddles and problems in order to prepare for the class.  This is not required, however.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will be assessed through their in-class responses.  Corrective feedback will be given during class (if needed) to ensure students accurate understanding of concepts.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
