In this three week class, students use clues to solve science mysteries and break out of virtual escape rooms! This is the first of a two part series. I also offer flex & one part, seven week versions of this course. Choose what works best.

Do you like puzzles? Are you into science and nature? Are mysteries your thing? Then this is the course for you! Each class will be centered around a different theme found in nature. Students will work together using clues to solve puzzles and unravel a new science mystery each week in order to escape the digital breakout room! The first and last few minutes of each class will act as bookends to introduce the mystery and debrief the learning. The time in between will be spent solving puzzles...
As the students solve each nature mystery, they will explore the following learning objectives: Week 1: Insect Adaptations, Plant Lifecycles Week 2: Animal Adaptations, Genetics Week 3: Hydrothermal Energy
I am a former fifth grade science teacher with a degree in Biology. I have also spent several years working with gifted and talented students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. This gives me a unique perspective as I work alongside my learners, gently guiding their thinking and helping them to discover exciting new truths about the world around them.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
