Class Experience
In this one-time course, I've hidden math concepts inside a fun escape room activity! Students will learn how to calculate straight-time pay and how many hours they need to work to earn this pay given an hourly rate. This course will be filled with hands-on learning! Students will be able to: -Calculate straight-time pay -Calculate how many hours need to be worked in order to earn a certain straight-time pay -Define gross income, net income, hourly rate, hours worked, straight-time pay
I am from the United States and have been teaching various business, marketing, math and finance courses for 13 years. I have taught both at the high school and collegiate level. I teach both in person and online but online is my favorite! I have a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Information Technology Education, a Masters in Business Administration and a PhD in Online Education. I am very excited to work with all of you through Outschool!
Students need access to a Google account so they can make a copy of the Google Slide escape room. They will also need scratch paper and a pen/pencil to write down the codes.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
