Class Experience

Back into the Labyrinth! The Minotaur has returned and he's not happy with all the people that escaped his maze last time. The escape room has been updated with 100% new puzzles within the same layout. There are also challenging "hidden" puzzles that provide magical artifacts if found and solved. Finally, the Minotaur, himself, might just decide to take matters into his own hands with a challenging boss fight! But never fear, if you can locate the hidden puzzles scattered around the maze, you might have what you need to escape!

Students who played the previous version of Escape from the Minotaur will enjoy the updated game; however, it is not necessary to have played through Season 1 in order to enjoy this game-based lesson.

Once in the maze, students will be given 60 minutes to work together to solve puzzles collaboratively. A token system will be used to make sure that every student has an opportunity to contribute to solving the puzzles.

A knowledge of Greek mythology is helpful (although not necessary) to solving the puzzles. This game is more about puzzle solving than Greek mythology, which is mostly the theme/flavoring for the game. That said, we do spend some time discussing Greek mythology for any group that finishes early.

The puzzles will consist of riddles, lateral thinking (outside-the-box thinking), logic puzzles, word puzzles, and mazes. Each group has a total of three hints that they can ask for during the lesson. For the most part, I am there to set the scene, coach/encourage them, and clarify anything they don't understand about the setup. That said, not every group will necessarily escape. Any group that DOES escape will have their team name go on the high score board, which I will post on the course listing and in future offerings of the lesson.

Below, I'll post the high scores of groups that have gone through the Labyrinth:
