Class Experience

Students will learn the story of Theseus and the Labyrinth from Greek mythology. Then they will work in teams to complete a maze in Minecraft.
Students must have access to a device with Minecraft Bedrock Edition (also called Pocket Edition). They must also have an Xbox Live Account (the free version is fine unless they are joining from Xbox). No other materials are required for the class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The story of Theseus and the Labyrinth includes the story of Pasiphae, Minos's wife, who falls in love with a bull and consummates the relationship, eventually giving birth to the half-human/ half-bull Minotaur. I will not go into details about the consummation only that she fell in love with a bull and got pregnant.
The story of the labyrinth at Crete is ancient and has been told many times in many ways. In this class, I will tell a somewhat abridged version of the story. It is the version I am fond of and may not be the exact version someone else tells.
