Trapped! With only one way out! Are you up to the challenge? In this class you will find yourself trapped on Math Mystery Mountain with only one passage that leads to freedom. You must travel through a series of locked underground tunnels, solving math puzzles along the way, in order to identify passcodes and find keys that will unlock each door so that you can make your way to safety. But you and your team must work fast! The water is rising quickly, and you must escape before time runs...
This class is designed for advanced math students who enjoy a challenge, and love the intrigue of escape rooms. The focus in this class will be less on specific math skills and more on developing strong number sense and deep mathematical thinking. In order to be successful in this class, students should already be fluent with math facts 0 -12 in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
As a recently retired Gifted and Talented Intervention Specialist, I have a passion for helping young children discover the joy of learning! Before moving into Gifted education, I taught elementary Math and Science to fourth and fifth grade students. In addition to my education certifications in Elementary Education, Gifted Education, and English as a Second Language, I also have a Bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University.
