Description

Class Experience

In this hands on class learners will learn the parts of a pumpkin.  We will cut open our pumpkin and investigate its insides. Learners will fill out their investigation handout as we go along.  Once we are finished with our investigation learners can carve their pumpkins with adult supervision to begin our eruption experiment. Practice Social Skills, math skills, sensory skills, writing skills.

Pumpkin (not mini pumpkin)
Knife for carving
Vinegar
Baking Soda
Printout  (I will send this closer to class date)
Pencil
Markers or Crayons
1 Tablespoon measuring spoon
1 Cup measuring cup
Something to place under pumpkin (tray or plate)

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Please supervise learners while knife is in use.  Learners can also pre-cut their pumpkins before class.  Learners will need a clear space for experiment.
