*If your student hasn't taken Erosion Explosion Part 1 - Wind and Water, I would suggest they take that prior to part 2. They will experiment with wind and water while learning the basics of erosion! Erosion Explosion Part 2 focuses on weathering! We will review the definition of erosion while going further into the process by learning about the types of weathering. We will discuss physical and chemical weathering with a short, interactive Power Point where students will see real life...
Students will review the definition of erosion. Students will understand weathering.
1 tray 5 cups Water - 3-4 cups Chalk - 1-2 pieces Vinegar - 1/2 cup Alka seltzer tablet Colored gravel (like that from a fish tank) - 1/4 cup 5-6 sugar cubes Sandpaper Skittles
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parents may need to help younger students set up their experiments.
