Class Experience

Calling all Pokemon fans! This summer camp is just for you! In this one week summer camp, students will participate in many different Pokemon related activities. Test your Pokemon knowledge as you complete the "Identify the Pokemon" challenge. There will be interactive games, activities, and more! Students will even create their own Pokemon and try to break the Pokemon code using the Unown alphabet! In the first class, we will identify the Pokemon and go on a Pokemon scavenger hunt. In the second class, we will break the Pokemon code and play "Fake or Real Pokemon". In the last class we will Race to Find the Pokemon. Please bring your Pokemon cards to class and we will have a special sharing time at the end of each class!

Iowa Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Hello! My name is Amy and I have been a teacher for 20 years! I have taught early childhood and elementary grade levels, ESL students, college students, and adults through various institutions!

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I also have a Master of Science degree in Educational and Instructional Technology. In addition, I am certified to teach Reading in grades K-8 and all Middle School subjects. I have also obtained my TESOL endorsement.

My philosophy of teaching combines a few different educational theories. I am a strong believer of constructivist and brain-based learning and incorporate both into my instruction. I want to make learning interesting, engaging, fun, and challenging so that students are excited to learn and are more engaged in their learning. I incorporate differentiated instruction and multiple methods of instruction to meet the diverse needs of the students. I also strive to create a learning environment that supports social emotional learning and competency. I use a variety of technological sources in many of my classes, including PowerPoint, YouTube, and other digital resources. I love to incorporate technology, music, and a variety of other teaching methods to help reach all learners!

I reside in Arizona, USA with my husband, 4 children, 3 dogs, and 2 guinea pigs! Reading is my favorite hobby and I love animals. My favorite place in the world is the beach and I love to swim!

I teach reading classes, book clubs, science classes, and other fun learning classes. I offer a wide variety of classes on Outschool. I will work hard to make sure your child enjoys my classes!

You are also welcome to follow and like my professional Facebook page,"Teacher Amy Griswold" at https://www.facebook.com/teachgriswold. Stay up to date with all of my current and upcoming classes!
