Each day there will be a new mystery building to build and a mini lesson on who built it, where is it in the world, and why did it get built. Great introduction to geography! Students will use Minecraft's Creative Mode, to construct the teacher's already constructed building. This will be a step by step process. They will listen to instructions, that contain very specific Minecraft building materials. These multiply step processes, will help with auditory processing, which improve skill-sets in reading comprehension and mathematical word problems. Day One - Towers of Power - students will learn about the towers of the world and what is a mathematical sequence. We will focus on building a famous North American tower and learn who built it. Why was it built and what unique details it took to build it. We will also integrate a sequence into our build can you find it? In Minecraft, students will build with me or they can decide to make their own tower. Day two - Frank Lloyd Wright - We will study the works of Frank Lloyd Wright and focus on a building technique called the cantilever. We will build a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired house in Minecraft. Students will be encouraged to find examples of a cantilever in your neighborhood and post them on the classroom page? Day three - Space Shuttles - This week we will learn about space shuttles, why were they created and why did NASA shut the program down. Come learn from Keith Hatfield, a Canadian Astronaut about the international space centre. In Minecraft, students will build with me and then can decide what unique patterns to inject into their space shuttles. In this build, we will touch on the Minecraft art form of pixel art. Day four - We are going UP! We will study why Louis XVI was fascinated why these, and why they put a sheep, duck and rooster in one of them. Day five - Hitting the high seas! Learn the history of the wooden boats, and find out why you can be imprisoned for life for cutting down the King's Arrow. At the end of class, we will have 5 to 10 minutes to share our builds and compare and contrast each others successes. I cannot wait to have fun building with you. See you in the classroom. Regarding Minecraft: Each student will need a Minecraft account. Class participants will do all Minecraft building on their own personal device. Any version of Minecraft (PC/Mac computer, Minecraft for Windows10, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or other gaming consoles, Minecraft PE for iPad, Android tablets, etc.) will work for this course. The purchase of Minecraft must be made separately and prior to the start of class. Students with a few months of Minecraft experience through play or otherwise, will have the skills needed to complete the builds in Minecraft. Minecraft is a building tool for this course (think of it as digital building blocks). The lessons and information in this course are not official Minecraft products and are not associated with Mojang. What is NOT included: This course will not include a group server or realm. Students can work together if their devices are compatible but partner/group projects are not required. Most learners will build in Minecraft on their own. ***Some builds might be more complex and will require more time then the hour requires, or the skill-set of the builder, in this event I will send the recording, at the request of the student, so they can continue the build at their own pace.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am trained with applications such as: Tinkercad, Acura, 3D printing, Virtual Reality software, electric circuits, and block programming with Scratch and Minecraft.
My family members are avid Minecrafters and I am a certified elementary teacher, who often incorporated many Minecraft theme classes into my curriculum. My cousin is an architect, she was my roommate for 6 years, so I gained an inform education through her by osmosis. My husband and I built our house from the foundation up, therefore, I have a lot of practical knowledge too.
