Epic Humor Lab: Intro to Improv Games for Middle Schoolers

Epic Humor Lab is an eight-week improv class where middle schoolers explore the exciting world of unscripted comedy through interactive games and activities. Each session is designed to be highly interactive, with students spending most of their time playing guided improv games and receiving constructive feedback. This format ensures that learners feel confident and supported while building new skills.

Students will learn the foundational rules of improv, including the "Yes, And" principle, character creation, storytelling, and teamwork. They'll have each others backs! 

Each class begins with a warm-up to help students get comfortable, followed by an explanation and demonstration of the day’s games.  Students will play the games themselves, with the teacher offering guidance and feedback to encourage them to explore different avenues in the stories they are creating.

This is a hands-on, interactive course where students learn by doing. Games are introduced step by step, with plenty of opportunities for students to ask questions. The emphasis is on creating a supportive space where everyone feels comfortable trying something new.
