Class Experience

This is Slime Class #3 ...but there is no need to have taken Slime #1 or #2 in order to participate... (you might wish to take those as well.... since they have other great slimes too - and you will love all the slimes in every class!)

This class requires no previous knowledge or abilities. Each step will be shown live, with the ability to ask questions, receive extra help, and talk about whatever makes you happy. Together we will learn how to make slime textures that feel and look completely different from one another, all by changing a few ingredients.

Through live and interactive video chat, each slime project will be made from scratch using the materials shown in the Learner Supply List section and/or Classroom Page. Together, with like-minded friends, you can explore the exhilaration of making slime, knowing why it works, and playing with it for hours and hours to come.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Week 1: Starbucks Slime, and Lemonade Slime (edible)
Week 2: Chalkboard Slime, and Gummy Bear Slime (edible)
Week 3: Magnetic Slime (works with magnets!), and Mud slime
Week 4: Galaxy Slime, and Water Slime
*PLUS* a bonus slime - on any week that time permits!

In this class, you will learn new slimes you have (hopefully) have never tried before - how to make them successful, and why they work!. Make new friends, laugh, and relax! As we work from week to week, we will explore many concepts. Some that you might be familiar with and some that you will not. We will look at the scientific aspects of mixing chemicals to produce a reaction. Explore the different types of slime and why they have different consistencies! In fact, we will even be making several slimes you can EAT... Super tasty!

Each week's class will create a new and impressive slime, that is sure to have your friends and family asking... "Wow! Can you make ME one of those?" Whether you’re a beginner to the art of making slime or a veteran, our friendly class will be something you will look forward to attending each week.

Slime projects are not too expensive and can be purchased right through Amazon, Michaels, or Walmart.com... if you would rather not shop!. The AWESOME thing is that they look like they came right from the store once you are done with your slimes! Supplies will range from $10-15, (once you build up supplies like glue, contact lens solution, shaving cream, glitter, etc... your supplies will cost around $5 per craft/lessons).

Learning Goals

Each week we will learn art safety in crafting, as well as short cuts, out-of-the-box ideas, problem-solving skills, design and color concepts, and self-expression. Chemical reactions and caution.

Community driven art has many benefits, they create teamwork, following instructions, improving fine motor skills, willingness to try new things, help with communication, patience, problem-solving skills, focus, concentration, boosts brainpower (cognitive development), improves mood, self-esteem, creativity, reduces anxiety, and much more.

Parental Guidance
There will never be anything a parent is required to do, outside of helping their child acquire the needed supplies* for class and a way to attend the class. This class will teach students how to properly work with BORAX... (it is not something that is needed for class but I feel that every serious slimer should know what and what not to do with dangerous slime ingredients) since this is a common activator for slime. *In this class will also be using a few chemicals (contact lens solution and baking soda, liquid laundry detergent, lotion, liquid starch, cornstarch, magnetite, and glue). It is always recommended that kids wear eye protection. Additionally, you might want to assist in the pouring of some of our chemicals. Please join us and help with the fun!
