D&D Camp : Entry to the Hunter's Guild (Levels 1-4)
Class experience
"The Hunter’s Guild" is a society that has spread across all the lands, independent of any government beyond their own. Each major city across the continent has a Guild House dedicated to "The Hunter’s Guild" where people can come and commission quests and set bounties for the members of the Guild, specifically in monster hunting. You all have decided to go through the training necessary to become members of the Guild. You have studied the various species of animals, monsters, and creatures...
Students will learn problem solving in a fun and supportive group setting. Students will learn how to work with a team and co-operate with each other in order to achieve an end goal. Students will learn how to express their creativity through their characters and the adventures they will have in D&D.
Homework Offered
Throughout the adventure, characters will "level up" gaining new abilities and more health points. It will be the students responsibility to make sure their character is properly leveled whenever this happens. I am always available to help if needed, but please be sure all leveling up takes place before the start of next week's class. There is also a link in Materials to a YouTube video that gives a great overview on how to level up your character.Assessments Offered
Grades Offered
Students must have a pen and paper for notes throughout the campaign, a set of dice (1d4; 1d6; 1d8; 1d10; 1d100; 1d20) and a fifth edition character between levels 1-4. If you do not have dice, there are plenty of free apps you can use if you do not wish to buy a set. Otherwise, sets can be purchased easily through Amazon or comic book/board game stores. Students do not need to have a Player's Handbook though I do heavily recommend having one. It is also recommended that the student has a basic understanding of the game, but it is not required as I can teach them as we go along. If this is your child's first introduction to the game, then I would recommend at least reading the Basic Rules. I have also provided links to some free materials including the Essential Rule Book. If your student is not sure how to level up their character now that they have gotten experience from past adventures, then check out the YouTube video listed in the materials.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Dungeons and Dragons inherently includes fantasy violence. I will never encourage students to enact violence against other persons within the game settings.
I may refer to the Player's Handbook throughout the course of the campaign.
I am a professional actor by trade, but in my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading plays, playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and now running D&D sessions on Outschool! While my classes focus on the game, Dungeons & Dragons, there is a...
