In this 5 part course students will be introduced to the exciting world of entrepreneurship. Together we'll brainstorm business ideas, create a business plan, discuss marketing strategies, and learn the basics of business finance.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn:
• What is entrepreneurship and why is it important?
• How to complete and utilize a SWOT analysis.
• What is a mission statement, vision statement, and business description?
• What is branding? 
• How to identify your ideal customer and advertise to them?
• How to keep track of and record business income and expenses?
• How to calculate break even point and target profit points?

Students will gain experience:
• Brainstorming and discussing business ideas
• Setting SMART goals
• Using critical thinking skills
Students have the option of taking what they learn in class and further developing their own ideas in order to start their own small businesses. Some brainstorming at home may be necessary between each class. 
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
