Walt Disney once said, “The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” If you are looking to learn the skills to start doing, from an entrepreneurial mindset to a business execution, this class takes you all the way. Students will learn what it takes to go from an idea to a business plan. In First class we will cover what it takes to be an entrepreneur. In Second class we will get started with the business plan. In Third class we will learn how to do market research. In Fourth class we will continue to build our plan. In the Fifth class we will learn how to fund your business and how to deliver your business plan. Students get a chance to write and practice their elevator pitch. Along the way, students play games and take part in activities to learn the principles of entrepreneurship. We discuss current business news, brainstorm together, and develop business ideas into a full business plan. In the past, attendees of this course have created businesses for products from new jeans pockets to redesigning the entire city transit system. Please note: To monitor and encourage student engagement, cameras must be on and students must be on the camera for the entire length of the class. Additionally, all learners must be enrolled as students; if two learners are sharing a device, both learners must be enrolled per Outschool policies.
