Enrich Kids: Genius Hour - Introduction

What's your child interested in? Open a business, create a new dragon power, eat local. In this one day class we start an enrichment inquiry on their interests to find a topic for our Genius Hour project class or to pursue on their own.

Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 5
This class is an inquiry based class where students will learn how to start inquiries that can lead to Genius Hour Project Based Learning. Children attend with a discovery box items of interest which showcase what they are passionate about. Each student will share one thing from the box, or more if there is time permitting. Students are free to ask questions about items or start an inquiry once the item is introduced to try and probe deeper to find things about the topic they have not explored yet.

The teacher will facilitate inquiries made to move students from one level of open inquiry to the next level of inquiry and ask questions to find areas of their interest that are not yet explored. During the inquiry students who come up with a challenge question or problem that they don't know the answer to in collaboration can bring the challenge or problem to our project based learning class as a Genius Hour Project.

Any Student who does not wish to be on camera after the attendance is taken can move off screen and just show their items if they wish.
