Description
Class Experience
Students will learn how to expand their writing. Students will learn how to organize their writing. Students will learn to edit their own writing. Students will learn how to employ varied sentence structures in their writing. Students will learn to take risks in their writing and to become more confident writers. Students will learn to speak up and ask questions about their writing.
I've taught English for over 25 years in various settings, plus I've been a home school mom for the past 14 years. I have seen many, many students lack a good grasp of basic grammar and writing skills, and it really shows when they get to high school (and higher levels) as they struggle with writing papers and essays. Now is the time to use the language and writing skills that they know to form solid writing habits. It's a great, practical life skill!
Besides the standard Outschool technology and equipment requirements, the learner will need a pencil and paper (preferably a notebook or binder). If the student has a particular assignment(s) to address, he/she will need to have the materials related to this (e.g., book). Any other necessary materials (review worksheets, etc.) will be provided by the instructor.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
