Class Experience
The goal of this class is for students to learn how to introduce themselves, listen to words and sentences and respond appropriately. Students will practice reading simple words, sentences and short phrases. Scholars may practice using adjectives, adverbs, pronouns and other parts of speech to create complete sentences.
Students may be assigned a short activity. They may be asked to write a sentence to describe their favorite food, toy or activity. They might be asked to prepare questions to ask the teacher during the next class. These are examples of the type of assignment students might expect.
Progress will be measured by informal assessments such as observation and and ability to ask and answer simple questions.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
