English Speaking, Reading, Writing & Listening - ESL, EFL, Tesol

This class focuses on English speaking, reading, writing, and listening through practice. Each class will focus on a text that we'll read, discuss, and write about.

My teaching style is very student-centered. I believe students learn by doing, speaking, and collaborating with their peers. Therefore, this is NOT a lecture-style class. While each class will have a well-prepared structure & short mini-lesson, students will be engaged and required to interact with me and their peers.

Through engaging and interactive lessons, students will improve their English. I believe that in order to learn English, you must practice speaking it. Therefore, students will be given ample opportunities to speak English with a native English speaker as their teacher. This is the typical class format:

1. Intro and class norms (3 mins.): Students will briefly introduce themselves. I will introduce myself and go over the class rules. 
2. Warm-up (5-7 mins.): A question, prompt, picture, or video that relates to the content that activates students' prior knowledge. 
3. Mini-Lesson (10 mins.): I will present the content for the day (a specific vocabulary word, grammar, etc). 
4. Activity (15 mins.): Students will work together to implement and practice what they learn during the mini-lesson (in the form of collaborative activities, games, readings, presentations, etc.)
5. Individual Work/Wrap-up (10 mins.): Students will reflect on their learning individually (through writing and sharing their answers). I will wrap up the class.

Week 1 - Autumn (fall) activities and seasonal activities around the world.
Week 2 - Effect of the change of season on living things (plants & animals)
Week 3 - The October 2023 Eclipse
Week 4 - Autumn (fall) holidays around the world
