Description

Class Experience

In this class, students will learn to distinguish and construct simple and compound sentences. The teacher will share a PowerPoint presentation that contains all the lesson's content. As the class progresses, the teacher will pose questions to gauge understanding. Students will also be free to ask questions throughout the lesson by raising their hands to be acknowledged. Students will improve their understanding of simple and compound sentences in order to enhance variety in their writing skills.

As a 30-year English language arts teacher, I have seen the need for young students to show more variety in their writing. Not only should their sentence types vary, but they should also be accurate in structure. I am able to break these concepts down so that students understand with clarity and ease.

Students should have paper and a pencil for class.

The teacher will use ongoing formative assessment throughout the lesson.

1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
